This week in SAJE: Maimonides, Parshah - and second Aaron Segal Shabbaton!

Good afternoon! Hope all is well.

We will be having the Maimonides lecture at 8 PM Thursday, and Parshat Hashavuah 12:30 Friday, as usual.

In addition, we have the pleasure of hosting Aaron Segal (along with his family) this Shabbos for three lectures and all of the Shabbos meals. The lectures are as follows:
Lecture 1 5:15 - 6:15
"What Goes Around Comes Around" in Genesis and Beyond
God uses retributive justice frequently when dealing with Jacob and his children. Why?
Accompanied by cholent

Lecture 2 2:45 - 3:45
The Feast of Tabernacles and the Festival of Lights: Unlikely Bedfellows?
Despite their obvious differences, the Jewish holidays of Sukkot or Hanukkah are related in some surprising ways...

Lecture 3 4:15 - 4:45
Jacob's Bargain with God
Was the conditional vow Jacob made on his way to Haran appropriate? What does it tell us about Jacob?
Accompanied by Seudat Shlishit
The food at kiddush and meals will also be enhanced in Aaron's honor.
As this is the last SAJE programming of the quarter, I hope you can find time to take a break from studying and join us!

Have a good reading period,
Avi Levin
