Happy fourth week! The weather is balmy, winter quarter is nearly half over, and we have some exciting programming on the way!
This Week
Fifth WeekThe first of our student-run text-studies for the quarter, The Primacy of Halakha in Judaism vis-a-vis Yeshayahu Leibowitz, is this upcoming Wednesday, January 30th, at 6pm in the Newberger Hillel Great Room. A bagel dinner will be provided, and we are excited to see what our board members, Chana Messinger and Doni Bloomfield, come up with!
Ezra Blaustein, our scholar-in-residence, will be back with another lecture in his series on Halakha in Judaism. Title to be announced next week, but expect his lecture on Wednesday at 6pm.
The Chicago Center for Jewish Studies' guest speaker Eyal Chowers will also be here next week, for a lecture on
Violence and the Hebrew Language: Israel's Inner Struggles, Tuesday, February 5, at 5:30pm followed by a kosher Chinese-style dinner with RSVP. Flyer attached.Have a wonderful week and hatzlacha on midterms!
