[saje] SAJE Officer Elections

Dear SAJE-niks,

Welcome back! Before we return to our regularly scheduled programming, we have some important housekeeping to put in order: namely, our board for next year.

Several of our officers (including Avi and Jonas) will be either graduating or studying abroad next year. This means that our elections this year are particularly significant, as we will need a new President and Treasurer.

Nominees do not have to be on the SAJE board currently; they just need to have an investment in student-run Jewish programming, and its potential to be uniquely responsive to the needs of students. We are very interested in seeing new faces!

We would like nominations for all positions by this Sunday. Please send them to Avi (avilevin@uchicago.edu); he will confirm the nominations and send us all more details on Monday.

As Avi puts it: "SAJE is its participants. Any program you suggest or volunteer to run, feedback you give, or student who you bring to an event makes our community that much stronger." SAJE programming is diverse--it ranges from baking to text-study--and flexible, providing both regular weekly and bi-weekly opportunities and also special events like holiday parties and the quarterly academic lecture. This diversity means that board membership is a way to define what Jewish programming for UChicago should and can be.

So join us. Self-nominations are welcome (Avi has in fact assured me that they are his favorite kind). We hope to see you soon!

Best,
Maxine
SAJE Secretary
