Come meet us at the Student Activities and Resource Fair this Friday! That's today! We'll only be tabling until 4pm, so be sure to stop by!
Next, we'd like to invite you to our first event of the year!
On Tuesday, October 14, 8pm-12am, SAJE is excited to host a blowout Midnight Breakfast Sukkot Open House/Tikkun Leil Hoshana Rabba in the Newberger Hillel sukkah at 5715 S Woodlawn Avenue. The event will feature delicious breakfast foods like waffles and scrambled eggs, as well as brief student-prepared text-studies on topics related to the holiday and snacks and fun until late into the night. More information will go out soon, but if you think you'd like to contribute, let us know!
Here's some info about exciting programming to look forward to this quarter!
- SAJE is looking forward to continuing our Study and Slice/Study and Shmear events! These events feature delicious kosher dinner followed by informal Jewish learning in pairs. Feel free to bring a learning partner and text to study, or we can set you up at your skill level of choice! We expect to host these events in Weeks 5 and 7 of fall quarter, Wednesday nights from 7-9pm. Stay tuned for more info!
- We're also excited to introduce a brand-new learning program, Thursday Night Mishmar. This program is based on an old tradition of learning late into the night, also in the traditional paired style. We expect to augment this informal evening of learning with cake and snacks, Thursday nights of Weeks 4 and 8, 10pm-12am. More details to come.
- We'll also be piloting our first Jewish movie night! Likely Thursday evening of the sixth week of the quarter, with more information coming soon..
- Also stay tuned for future scholar-in-residence evenings and weekends, as well as exciting faculty lectures!
As always, feel free to get in touch if you have an idea for a program or want to share a text-study with your peers. SAJE has always been the success it is because of efforts from students like you!
Shana tova from your grateful president,
And wishing everyone a meaningful Yom Kippur,
Tova Reiter
