[saje] Ezra Blaustein Lecture TODAY!

The Elusive Nature of Haroset: A Puzzling Addition to the Seder
Ezra Blaustein

Wednesday, February 25
630-8pm
5418 S Woodlawn Ave, apartment 3

The Mishnah and Gemarah contain only a few cryptic lines about haroset, and they leave us with more questions than answers.  What is its role at the seder?  Why is it there at all?  Maimonides himself seems unable to make up his mind about it (though he does provide a recipe), and we will see if his confusion can serve to enlighten us.

Ezra Blaustein is a third-year PhD candidate at UChicago Divinity School, studying medieval Jewish history. He is an alum of the Tikvah Fellowship and Yeshiva University's rabbinate program, and originally from the DC area.

Bagels, lox etc will be served. RSVP to saje@uchicago.edu or at the Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/1602991233255160/

Can't wait to see you all!
