Recent deadly attacks in Paris and Copenhagen, an increase in hate crimes against Jews, and the proliferation of fascist political parties throughout Europe signal a new rise of anti-Semitism on the continent. According to the ADL Global 100, a global public opinion project commissioned by the Anti-Defamation League, 24% of Western European adults and 34% of Eastern European adults harbor anti-Semitic attitudes. This undercurrent of intolerance in European countries and recent statements from Israeli leadership encouraging European Jews to move to Israel has raised questions about the future of Jewish communities in Europe.
Join the IOP as Andrew Srulevitch discusses the future of European Jewish Communities. Srulevitch, the Director of European Affairs and Assistant Director of International Affairs for the Anti-Defamation League, has extensive experience working with European governments and communities to respond to anti-Semitism. He will discuss his work on this issue, the current crisis, and what this means for the future of Jewish Communities in Europe.
